Native Mac app for music collectors

Hear what you own.

Luut manages your hi-res library, brings in Apple Music and plays on your Mac, over AirPlay or on streamers like the WiiM Ultra. Built in Swift for macOS 27, no cloud required.

One email at launch, nothing else. Unsubscribe any time. Details in the privacy policy.

Features

For ears that hear the difference.

Discography

See what you’re still missing.

Luut matches your collection against MusicBrainz. The discography shows which albums you have and which are missing. “Buy” takes you to Qobuz, Bandcamp, Discogs or jpc.

An artist discography: studio albums by year, owned albums marked, with an open buy menu listing Qobuz, Bandcamp, Discogs and jpc.

Quality

Hi-res worth the name.

Every album shows its format and resolution. The authenticity check measures the files and flags suspicious ones, such as upsampled FLACs or FLACs converted from MP3.

Three albums with format and resolution, one of them flagged as suspicious.

Artists

Bands with a history.

Artist pages combine Wikipedia and MusicBrainz: band history, line-up over time and every studio album, with your collection in view. Photos only with a free license and attribution.

Timeline of a band line-up with members and instruments, studio albums below, owned albums marked in red.

Smart Playlist

Just say what you want to hear.

Describe a mood or an occasion. Luut understands the criteria, lets you adjust them and builds the playlist from your library. With Apple Intelligence, entirely on your Mac.

Smart Playlist with recognized criteria Rock, Pop and Alternative and the resulting playlist.

Radio

Over 50,000 stations, no account.

Luut uses the free Radio Browser directory. Favorites, categories and stations near you, played in the zone of your choice: on the Mac, over AirPlay or on the WiiM.

Radio view with categories, saved stations and popular stations nearby.

Apple Music

Apple Music, right alongside.

Through MusicKit, your mixes, playlists and stations sit right next to your own collection. One search finds both, played on the Mac or over AirPlay 2 on the WiiM.
